Bayelsa Queens head coach, Domo Okara, openly acknowledged that Remo Stars Ladies outperformed his team during their matchday 11 clash in Yenagoa.
The Prosperity Girls clinched a 3-1 victory over Remo Stars Ladies at the Samson Siasia Stadium on Wednesday. Goals from Chinyere Igboamalu, Shakirat Moshood, and Aderemi Mary sealed the win for Bayelsa Queens, while Precious Vincent scored for Remo.
In a post-match interview, Okara admitted that his players fell short of expectations. Despite this, he praised his team for securing maximum points.
“I am surprised by the resilient performance from Remo Stars Ladies,” Okara remarked. “My girls did not perform up to par, but securing the three points is crucial. This group is highly competitive, and Remo Stars Ladies are formidable opponents.
“We have plenty of room for improvement, as evident from today’s match. However, the victory is paramount, and I am confident we will deliver better results in our upcoming away fixture against Delta Queens next week.”
Bayelsa Queens remain atop the table with 22 points, maintaining their position as league leaders.
