Napoli Lower Osimhen Valuation to Aid Manchester United Move

Date:

Former Serie A champions, Napoli are reportedly willing to lower their €75m valuation of Victor Osimhen to facilitate a transfer to Manchester United, while actively working to prevent the Nigerian striker from joining their domestic rivals Juventus.

Currently on loan at Galatasaray, Osimhen is expected to leave Napoli permanently at the end of the season, with several European powerhouses — including Arsenal, Liverpool, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain — monitoring his situation closely.

According to Turkish outlets Taktik Mania and Arda Ozkurt, Manchester United have taken the lead in the race, reportedly submitting an official offer through Galatasaray, where Osimhen is shining in the Turkish Super Lig and Cup competitions.

While the exact value of the bid remains undisclosed, it signals a significant move by United to secure the 26-year-old ahead of the summer window.

Osimhen’s Transfer Saga: Key Points

  • Rejected Moves: Osimhen turned down a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia last summer and also rejected Chelseadue to personal terms.

  • Serie A Exit Clause: His release clause does not apply to Italian clubs, meaning Juventus would need to negotiate a different fee — a clause Napoli are using to block any potential domestic transfer.

  • Napoli’s Strategy: Determined to avoid strengthening a direct rival, Napoli are willing to accept a reduced fee from clubs outside Italy, especially given their positive relationship with Manchester United, highlighted by previous dealings such as the Scott McTominay link.

  • Galatasaray’s Stance: Despite interest in keeping him, Galatasaray may struggle to match the financial might of Osimhen’s European suitors.

Meanwhile, Ruben Amorim, who is strongly linked with United’s managerial role, has reportedly made Osimhen his top striker target, above other options like Viktor Gyokeres and Liam Delap, according to TEAMtalk.

Osimhen, for his part, has stayed silent on the swirling speculation, focusing solely on helping Galatasaray pursue the Super Lig title and Turkish Cup.

With the summer transfer window approaching, the race for Victor Osimhen’s signature is heating up — and Manchester United, with Napoli’s backing, may just have the upper hand.
