Victor Osimhen has been out injured since returning from international duty with Nigeria, and the Forward’s absence has been a big worry for Napoli manager, Luciano Spalletti.
Osimhen’s injury couldn’t have come at a worst time for Napoli, as Spalletti would have counted on having his top Striker available for the Club’s first ever quarter-final appearance in the UEFA Champions League.
It’s an all-italian affair in that tie which pits Napoli against AC Milan, in two legs.
Meanwhile, Victor Osimhen’s recent injury, a tear in the abductor muscle is the latest of the 13 separate injuries he has suffered since 2016.
It’s no secret his injury record is a source for concern for the team as much as it is for President Aurelio De Laurentiis, over his prized asset.
The absence of Osimhen seems to take away the fear factor for Napoli, and it was evident last weekend against AC Milan when they were easily beaten 4-nil.
Although the team bounces back in the victory against Lecce, but it wasn’t really convincing.
No doubt Victor Osimhen will be working tirelessly to be available for Wednesday’s UCL clash, and it remains to be seen if he will be given the medical all clear to feature in that encounter.
