Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has received words of praise from the technical point of view, for his goal against Southampton on Saturday, with an expert verdict indicating that it came simply because he was in the right place at the right time.
Footballlive.ng can report that such was the assessment handed Ndidi for his face-saving goal in The Foxes’ 2-1 home loss to The Saints, as the former English Premier League champions noted in their technical report that the Super Eagles’ star made some telling contributions in the game.
Although Southampton shocked their hosts at King Power Stadium, The Foxes’ technical buffs did not fail to note Ndidi’s efforts in the game, and subsequently highlighted the technical impact that led to his goal.
After James Ward-Prowse and Shane Long struck in the first half for the visitors, Ndidi knocked home his second goal of the season in the feisty encounter that caught many Leicester fans unawares.
The fixture means Ndidi has started all but one of The Foxes’ matches so far this season, with a total of 1,948 minutes to show, and technical egg heads at the club are not to be left out in pin pointing his strengths.
The latest verdict going out for the former Racing Genk of Belgium star stated in part: “Wilfred Ndidi gave Leicester hope of a comeback, (while also) emphasizing his importance in midfield.
“(He was) in the right place at the right time to convert Ricardo Pereira’s pass and halve Southampton’s advantage just before the hour.
“He has completed the most successful passes, 885 in total. He also has the most tackles of any Leicester player, completing 51 dispossession.”
