Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Onyinyen Ndidi has gained another round of accolades from the club’s coach, Cluade Puel, who remains amazed at the youngster’s consistency and loyalty to the team.
Speaking against the back drop of Ndidi’s new six-year contract with The Foxes last weekend, Puel said it is a delight to have the Super Eagles star in his squad.
A number of teams were said to be interested in signing the Nigerian this summer, but Leicester managed to keep him, and have since tied the midfielder to the club until the summer of 2024.
Puel said he is happy to keep the former Racing Genk of Belgium battler, as he says Ndidi is improving as a footballer all of the time.
Ndidi joined Leicester from Genk in January 2017, and has made 62 appearances for the former English Premier League champions since his arrival at King Power Stadium, all of which Puel says bely his tender age.
“We forget that he is just 21. It is crazy. He is an experienced player. He wins the ball but he has got better on the ball: his control, his passes and capacity to take information and give direction,” Puel submitted.
