NFF Appoints Aliyu Zubairu as New Head Coach of Flying Eagles

Date:

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially appointed Aliyu Zubairu as the Head Coach of the National U20 Boys, also known as the Flying Eagles.

The decision was approved by the NFF’s Executive Committee, following a recommendation from the Technical and Development Sub-Committee.

Zubairu recently led El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri to victory in the President Federation Cup against Abia Warriors FC in Lagos.

However, he and his team got eliminated by Benin’s Dadje in the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup last month.

The title winning coach is expected to begin his role immediately.

Aliyu Zubairu is tasked to assemble and prepare the Flying Eagles for the upcoming WAFU B U20 Championship as his first major responsibility, which is set to take place in October/November in Togo.

The tournament will determine the zone’s representative for the 2025 Africa U20 Cup of Nations.
