More cash is flowing into the bank accounts of Super Eagles’ players, as latest information reveals that each of the stars has been paid $9,000 as appearance fees for their friendly matches against DR Congo, England and Czech Republic.
Though the Eagles lost two of the matches and drew one, an official of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) said the players were paid in full to further fire them up for the World Cup, which kicks off this Thursday in Moscow, Russia.
The top shot also revealed that appearance fee for each match was $3,000 per player and they were all happy with the treatment they are receiving, which should serve to bring out the best in them at the tournament.
The NFF board member said: “The appearance fees for all the pre-World Cup matches have been paid as the federation try to ensure that the players are in right frame of mind.
“We are using this medium to call on Nigerians to get behind the team and those spreading rumours regarding the welfare of the team should make enquiry.
“This is first time in history of the Super Eagles that players receive all that their entitlement before a major tournament.”
