NFF Rate Uzoho As Nigeria’s First Choice Goalkeeper

Date:

Deportivo La Coruna of Spain B-team goalkeeper, Francis Odinaka Uzoho has received top tips from Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for him to be the Super Eagles’ first-choice for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Though Eagles’ coach, Gernot Rohr is yet to officially announce his first choice keeper, who will start against Croatia, Uzoho has been rated by the NFF media department ahead of Chippa United of South Africa star, Daniel Akpeyi and Enyimba of Aba’s Ikechukwu Ezenwa.

Uzoho has failed to keep a clean-sheet in his last four games for the national team, conceding goals against Serbia, Democratic Republic of Congo, England and Czech Republic.

At 19 years, he is the youngest of the ninety-six goalkeepers at the 2018 World Cup, which the NFF media statement noted while tipping hi for the starter’s gloves come Saturday.

”Young goal –tender Francis Uzoho has logged useful hours since making his debut against Argentina in Krasnodar in November last year, and deputies Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Daniel Akpeyi are even more experienced.

”For sure, the tactician has the pieces to craft a crack squad capable to surprising the bookmakers in Russia,” the NFF stated on Sunday.
