Central defender Andrew Ikefe has admitted Niger Tornadoes’ six-point gap to Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) leaders Lobi Stars is “massive” but insists his side’s title chances are not over.
The Ikon Boys are fifth on the ladder with 37 points from 24 games in the 2018 season.
“It is massive, the nine points after 25 games, I agree completely, but it is not lost,” he told Footballlive.ng.
“I believe that maybe going forward, Lobi Stars are a bit more complete.
“What we want to do is be in front of them when the season ends.”
The Minna outfit will face Lobi Stars in the week 25 of Nigeria’s top flight.
“We can only look at ourselves and think if we want to get three points out of the game we cannot afford to make mistakes.
“The only option for us to reduce the gap is to win and that’s what we are planning to do when we clash,” the former Katsina United defender added.
