Nigeria’s youth national team, Flying Eagles will do battle with their eternal rivals, Ghana at the 2018 WAFU U20 Cup of Nations in Togo.

Both teams will now step up their preparations for the competition, and a potentially explosive head-on confrontation between them in Lomé, following the draw that took place on Monday.

Group A has Togo, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso and Senegal, with the top two teams from both pools aiming to be among the four semi-finalists, and ultimately play for tickets into the December 16 final.

With qualification already assured for the 2019 Africa U20 Cup of Nations, the WAFU Cup will serve as preparation point for Nigeria ahead next year’s continental tournament in Niger Republic.
