It’s been over two months the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has been searching for a new head coach following the departure of Finidi George.
However, recent reports suggest that Former Sweden national team coach, Janne Andersson is a strong candidate to take over as the head coach of the three-time African champions.
In an interview with a Swedish newspaper, Janne Andersson confirmed that he held discussions with the NFF regarding the vacant Super Eagles coaching position.
“It’s a huge footballing nation. I can confirm that I have had a dialogue with the Nigeria Football Federation,” Andersson revealed.
“I’m extremely flattered to be in the running to be their next national team coach.”
“Dialogue is ongoing and I don’t really want to say more than that. I have been in this industry for so long and know that things can happen in different ways. So we’ll see what happens in the future.”
