The Nigeria National League (NNL) announces the relegation of 12 clubs to the Nationwide League One (NLO) following the conclusion of the 2023/2024 season.
The relegated teams are:
- Stormers FC
- Ekiti United FC
- 1472 FC
- FC ONE Rocket
- Giant Brillars FC
- Trade Safe FC
- NAF FC
- Abubakar Bukola Saraki FC
- EFCC FC
- Mailantarki Care FC
- Jigawa Golden Stars
- City FC of Abuja
NNL confirmed these relegations in a letter addressed to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Chairman of the Nigeria National League (NNL), George Aluo, highlighted the league’s progress and upcoming plans.
“The 2023/2024 NNL season ended with giant strides recorded by the board,” Aluo told NFF media.
Aluo also mentioned preparations for the NNL’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), where they will officially welcome the four clubs relegated from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and the eight clubs promoted from the NLO.
“Our next program is the Annual General Meeting of the board and clubs, where we will receive the four clubs that dropped from the NPFL and the eight that got promotion from the NLO. We are set and have promised Nigerians that we will improve on our last season’s performance.”
”We have raised the standards at NNL and the new season will no doubt be competitive as our performance has propelled many of the clubs that participated in last season to become giant killers in Nigerian football.”
