Chinaza Uchendu scored a brace as Nigeria came from behind to defeat Mali 2-1 in the bronze medal match at the WAFU Women’s Cup of Nations in Abidjan on Saturday.
Uchendu, who was also voted player of the match, struck in the 15th minute to cancel out Diarra Fatoumata’s 9th minute opener before she doubled in the 39th.

The victory sealed bronze for Nigeria at the maiden WAFU Women’s tournament and also marks the first honors for new Coach Thomas Dennerby.
