Nigerian Gaffer Speculates on National Team Vacancy

Date:

Nigerian coach, Fatai Amoo has speculated on the possible direction that the coaching position for the national team could take. The super eagles are set to play AFCON qualifiers in coming days, and no manager has been appointed yet for the position.

Amoo stated that although there are a lot of theories on what could happen with the position, there is a technical department of the Nigerian Football Federation, and there is a chance that Austin Eguavoen could be calling the shots as an interim manager.

“We’ve had so many news, speculations, so many theories, but I think we have a technical department, headed by an able and competent coach in person of Austin Eguavoen, so we are all thinking he will be like a standby for the two games coming up until the the FA will select or appoint a coach for the super eagles. I think that’s what is likely to happen”, said Amoo.

He, however clarified that it is not official, but it is a possibility under the circumstances.

“I think, because we have not heard it officially. I think that’s likely to be the situation or the solution for the games coming up soon”, the gaffer added.
