Nigerian Referee Yemisi Akintoye Selected for Elite Training Ahead of 2024 Women’s AFCON

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has named Nigerian referee Yemisi Eunice Akintoye among the elite referees selected for specialized training ahead of the 2024 Women’s African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Despite the exact dates of the tournament remaining uncertain, CAF has scheduled the training course to take place from June 9th to June 13th, 2024, in Morocco, the host country for the biennial competition.

The announcement, made on Monday afternoon, highlighted Akintoye as the only Nigerian on the prestigious list, emphasizing her status as one of the continent’s top referees. This training initiative aims to ensure the highest officiating standards for the upcoming tournament.
