Nigerian youngster scores for IK Start in Norway

Date:

Super Eagles prospect, Adeleke Akinyemi drew the curtain raiser as his team IK Start were brushed aside 3-1 by Molde in the Norwegian Eliteserien on Monday.

The goal marks his second of the Norwegian top flight season, following his Summer move to Start from Ventspils of Latvia.

Akinyemi expressed mixed feelings to Footballlive.ng following the loss.

“It was good to get on the scoresheet again. I really wanted to score and it arrived. There is relief in my heart and that will give me confidence in the remaining matches of the season,” he told Footballlive.ng.

“We wanted to record victory at home. It’s usually painful when you hit the opposition first and ending up not winning.”

Start are ranked 13th with 29 points on league standings.

“The group is unperturbed on the challenges ahead. Our objective is clear; to avoid relegation.

The young attacker has been tipped to be included in the Super Eagles squad in future.
