Nigerians won’t Allow Victor Moses Retire in Peace

Date:

Victor Moses dropped a bomb shell on Wednesday, announcing his retirement from international football and shocked many fans, but now Nigerians won’t let him retire in peace.

Moses, 27, made his debut for Nigeria in 2012, earning 37 caps in the process and an African Cup of Nations in the trophy cabinet.

But the fans are having none of all that retirement business, especially for the reasons given by the Player.

In a two-page open letter to all and sundry, Moses identified two factors behind his decision to call it quits with the three times African champions.

That excerpt of his letter reads:

However I feel that now is the right time to step away in order to be able to focus fully on club career and young family as well as to allow the next generation of Super Eagle stars the opportunity to step up and to flourish.

So, netizens took out time to analyze those reasons and generously dropped their 5 naira opinions.

We pick those replies randomly, but also some of the hilarious one.

@naijafoo :

@Itzbenniboi:

He’s retiring to concentrate on his family? And seeing as the only thing Nigeria could win is the cup of nations its probably in his, and Nigerias best interest for him to retire, especially with all the amazing youth coming through
