Nigeria’s Super Eagles B have been handed a tough draw for the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN), set to take place in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda this August. The team finds itself in Group D alongside Senegal, Congo, and Sudan, as revealed in the draw conducted in Nairobi on Wednesday.
With the tournament’s title still elusive for Nigeria, this group presents a significant challenge. Senegal, a dominant force in African football, will be a formidable opponent, while Congo and Sudan are both known for their competitive spirit. Nigeria will need to be at its best to secure their first-ever CHAN victory.
The 2025 CHAN will feature 19 teams, with 17 already confirmed. Two spots remain to be filled through a special qualifying round, the dates of which are still pending.
Teams vying for those spots include Sierra Leone, Comoros, South Africa, Egypt, and Algeria—though Algeria has previously withdrawn from the qualifiers due to scheduling conflicts.
