The Nigeria National League (NNL) has announced that the final matchday fixtures of the Super Eight playoff will be played simultaneously.
This decision aims to ensure fairness and impartiality among the competing teams.
All matches will be held at two venues: the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium and the University of Enugu temporary Stadium.
NNL Chief Operating Officer Ayo Abdulrahaman stated, “The decision to play the games simultaneously is to give a fair chance to all the teams to play to their strengths without any bias or advantage.”
Additionally, Abdulrahaman mentioned that the fixtures between Sokoto United and El-Kanemi Warriors, as well as Beyond Limits Academy versus Inter Lagos, will be played behind closed doors.
This measure is intended to prevent clashes between the supporters of these teams.
“The idea is to avoid clashes between the supporters of both teams, who have the tendency to drive their emotions beyond uncontrollable measures in such critical matches,” he explained.
In other fixtures, Sporting Supreme will face Nasarawa United, while Ikorodu City will go up against Madiba FC.
The group leaders will compete to determine the winner of the 2024 NNL season.
