NPFL 2024/25: Matchday 4 Results and Fixtures Update

The 2024/25 Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) season is heating up, with teams battling fiercely to climb the table.

After four rounds of matches, Remo Stars remain at the top, while teams like Rivers United and Niger Tornadoes are closely pursuing them.

NPFL Matchday 4 Results (September 28-29, 2024):

  • Ikorodu City 1-2 Nasarawa United
    Ikorodu City remains winless as Nasarawa United claimed a hard-fought 2-1 victory. Chilaka Thankgod scored for the home side, but goals from Nasarawa in both halves secured the win.
  • Akwa United 1-2 Sunshine Stars
    Sunshine Stars earned their first away win of the season with goals from Nwosu Chinadu and Seth Mayi. Akwa United’s late goal by Wisdom Ndo was only a consolation.
  • El Kanemi Warriors 2-2 Plateau United
    Plateau United squandered a two-goal lead, with Ibrahim Mustapha’s penalty inspiring El Kanemi Warriors to a 2-2 comeback, sharing the spoils.
  • Niger Tornadoes 1-1 Bendel Insurance
    Despite being a man down early on, Niger Tornadoes held Bendel Insurance to a 1-1 draw. Insurance’s failure to capitalize on their advantage left them frustrated.
  • Rivers United 2-0 Enyimba
    In a major clash, Rivers United defeated Enyimba 2-0, with coach Finidi George getting one over his former side. This result puts Rivers United just two points behind the leaders.
  • Bayelsa United 1-1 Kwara United
    Both sides are still searching for their first win of the season after a 1-1 draw. Kwara United took the lead through Akeem Akanni, but Bayelsa United equalized with a strike from Ibrahim Yahaya.
  • Abia Warriors 2-0 Kano Pillars
    Abia Warriors broke their winless streak with a 2-0 victory over Kano Pillars, thanks to goals from Sunday Megwo and an additional strike before the break.
  • Katsina United 3-0 Lobi Stars
    Katsina United secured a dominant 3-0 win over Lobi Stars, with Falolu Azeez, Nazifi Yahya, and Ahmed Abdultaofik getting on the scoresheet.
  • Shooting Stars 1-0 Heartland
    Shooting Stars earned their first win of the season, with Samuel Ayanrinde’s 27th-minute goal proving to be the difference against Heartland, who are still winless.
  • Remo Stars 2-1 Enugu Rangers
    Remo Stars continued their perfect run with a 2-1 win over Enugu Rangers. Alex Oyowah and Raymond Tochukwu scored for Remo Stars, while Rangers could only manage an equalizer from Agu Kenechukwu before conceding again.
