NPFL: A point is fair – Ossy Martins

Date:

Striker Ossy Martins admitted that a draw was a fair result as his Rivers United side drew 1-1 with Bendel Insurance in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) week 10.

The Pride of Rivers could only get a 1-1 draw at the Uniben Football Pitch on Wednesday afternoon, but the forward who netted the equaliser has claimed that the result was just about right.

“There was no clear winner,” he told Footballlive.ng. “But it was a good draw because Bendel Insurance were a good opponent.

“I thought they played really well – and there position in the table doesn’t do justice to how good a team they are.

“At home we always try to go for the win, but sometimes the course of a game can change and you have to be happy with a point.”

Rivers United are fifth on the NPFL log with 10 points from seven games.
