Midfielder Christopher Lolo is still beaming from Akwa United’s draw at Abia Warriors, but denies his team is dependent on Mfon Udoh.
The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) record scorer hit the back of the net for the fifth time as the Promise Keepers drew 1-1 with the Umuahia Warriors on Thursday.
“It’s obvious that picking a point in a game like this fires you up, but now we have to turn the page,” said Lolo to Footballlive.ng.
“There is a whole season ahead of us and we hope to achieve prestigious results. Our rapport with the fans? We hope to enter their hearts by giving them an important gift at the end of the season.”
Mfon Udoh has been an inspirational signing for the Promise Keepers, though some worry he could be a little too crucial.
“It’s not right to say we are dependent on a player. Let’s say that at this moment Mfon Udoh is more fortunate when it comes to getting the ball in the net. But the truth is that he is man of quality and talent.
