NPFL battle for the top: FC Ifeanyi Ubah pips El Kanemi Warriors in Nnew

Date:

FC Ifeanyi Ubah consolidated their position on the Group B table of the 2018/2019 Nigeria Professional Football League abridged league format with a one nil win over second placed El Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri at the FC Ifeanyi Ubah international stadium in Nnewi.

FC Ifeanyi Ubah and El Kanemi Warriors before the match day nine fixture both were tied on 15 points with Ifeanyi Ubah slightly on top of the table on superior goal difference.

FC Ifeanyi Ubah almost conceded in the first few minutes of the game due to lack of communication between the defence line and the goalkeeper but immediately turned things around as the game proceeded.

Ugwuka Emmanuel put the Anambra warriors ahead in the 34th minute to seal the victory for the home team as chances went begging for both teams in the first and second half.
