Edo state deputy Governor Comrade Philip Shaibu has stated that he is confident Bendel Insurance will avoid relegation at the end of the season despite failing to get maximum points in the bulk of the matches played at home so far.
The Edo Arsenal played out another draw at home in a rescheduled NPFL fixture against seven-time champions Enyimba international at the Uniben Sports complex on Sunday.
Reacting to another home draw, the deputy governor stated that he is certain the boys, though young will fight to avoid the drop at the end of the season. “You know we have very young players who are still inexperienced but gradually they are beginning to understand the league and if they continue like this they will be able to avoid the drop at the end of the season.”
Insurance is currently playing their home games at the University of Benin sports complex and the deputy governor is confident the team will return to their traditional home at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium before the end of April. “We are looking at April hopefully. That is the time the contractor promised us and if he keeps to it we will return to our permanent site in April.”
Insurance is at the moment in the relegation zone. They sit 9th on the table with nine points after nine games.
