Coach Hamza Abara commented on how Niger Tornadoes felt they had three points within their grasp at the weekend, so defeat to MFM FC hurt all the more.
The Ikon Allah Boys were leading 2-0 at the Agege Stadium in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Week 8 battle, before Abisoye Olawale, Michael Ohanu and Kenedinum Nelsom popped up with strikes to take the win for the Olukoya Boys.
“That was a very complete game and we were looking at the three points,” Abara considered to Footballlive.ng.
“It was a weird feeling after the game because we had the desire to play good football.
“The truth is that I would rather have lost 3-0 and we would not have been left with the vacuum left when we had in sight points to pick up.
“We had the feeling that we could hurt them and win, but a team with very high potential will create a lot of chances. Whether you are on form or not, at the end it is whether the chances are taken.
“The dressing room is annoyed because we felt that we had the three points and it doesn’t matter whether you are playing MFM or someone else. We would go back home and prepare for the next game.
“Now we have a series of games in which we have to pick up points.”
