Israel Adesanya, the two-time UFC Middleweight champion, won ten million naira after successfully betting on Enyimba FC in their NPFL match against Lobi Stars.
The Nigerian MMA star placed a $4,000 wager (around N3 million) on Enyimba to win their rescheduled match, which they did, delivering a payout of $5,920 (N10 million).
Enyimba FC took control early in the game, with Chinedu Ufere scoring just 14 minutes in. Eze Ekwutoziam followed up with a penalty goal two minutes later, giving Enyimba a strong 2-0 lead.
Lobi Stars fought back with a goal from Waheed Adebayor in the 36th minute, but they couldn’t equalize, resulting in another defeat for them in the 2024/25 NPFL season.
This is Enyimba’s second straight win, after previously defeating Heartland 3-1.
With six points from two matches, they now sit fourth on the league table, having played one game less than most teams.
In other Wednesday NPFL, Rangers International also secured a 1-0 win against Ikorodu City FC, thanks to Ugwueze Chinemerem’s headed goal.
