Enyimba striker Mfon Udoh is over the moon following his call-up into the Super Eagles ahead of Tuesday’s international friendly against Liberia.
The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) record goalscorer is among five home based players handed call-ups into the team by coach Gernot Rohr ahead of the friendly exercise against the Lone Stars.
The former Akwa United forward admits his surprise at his late inclusion but says he will make the best of the opportunity.
“I feel happy for this unexpected call up, because every player wishes to play in the highest level and representing your country is something wonderful especially in the Super Eagles,” the Enyimba skipper told Footballlive.ng.
“I’m looking forward to take this opportunity to prove myself even if it’s the last minute of the game I will try my best to prove myself, I feel relax and also happy.”
The match is in celebration of Liberian President, former World Footballer of the Year George Oppong Weah.
It is scheduled for Tuesday evening at the 35,000-capacity Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex.
