MFM FC gaffer Fidelis Ilechukwu has declared that his wards deserved to pick three points in their Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) week eight game on Sunday.
Kenedinum Chuks’ late strike capped a dramatic 3-2 win for MFM FC against Niger Tornadoes on Sunday.
Fidelis Ilechukwu’s side side trailed to Abishiya Peter’s early opener and Osondu Jonathan’s effort at the Agege Stadium.
“The lads didn’t get it right in the opening exchanges. Things didn’t go as planned,” Ilechukwu admitted in a chat with Footballlive.ng after the match.
“It was like film trick with the way the goals poured in within a twinkle of an eye.”
But Olawale Abisoye got one back for the Olukoya Boys and Michael Ohanu equalised. That set the stage for Kenedinum to score with a blistering blast in stoppage-time.
“We knew there was a chance for us when the tally was reduced thanks to Abisoye.”
“This gave us the needed impetus to fight and win the battle. I just told the boys to calm down and take their chances.”
“Kenedinum’s match winner? Fantastic. He picked the right moment to help the team win the game.”
“Overall the lads and our teaming fans really gave it their best. What can I ask for? They all deserve the victory,” he added.
The Olukoya Boys are on top of the Group A ladder with 15 points from seven games.
