FC Porto of Portugal midfielder, Kelechi Nwakali has confirmed that he will be in action with the club’s B-team this weekend, as he continues stepping up his progress for a regular spot in the main squad.
Pending his advent into Porto’s mainframe, the Chile 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup-winning captain, admitted he will have to make the best of any opportunity that comes his way with the reserves.
In that regard, Nwakali is now aiming for the best outing of his early days at Porto, as he seeks to help the squad pick their first victory of the season, before heading out few hours later to international duty with the Super Eagles.
The youngster, who is on loan from Arsenal of England, said he will land at the national team’s camp in Seychelles a day after playing for his club at home with Acadèmico Viseu on Saturday night.
Nwakali disclosed that he has completed all arrangements for him to be in Nigeria’s camp on Monday, as he looks forward to his first official training with the senior team.
He revealed: “I’m super excited and can’t wait to have my first training session with the rest of the squad.
“I will be in camp on the first day of opening; we have a game on Saturday night, after which I will link up with the team.”
