Striker Stephen Odey has commented on UEFA Europa League opponents, Bayer Leverkusen and suggested that FC Zürich want to seal their place in the next round of the competition as soon as possible.
The reigning Swiss Cup champions head out to BayArena needing at least a point to qualify for the round of 32 in the Europa League.
“For us it is not easy to face Bayer Leverkusen for the way that they play. The promise is that we will do everything that we can,” commented Odey to Footballlive.ng this week.
“For us this is the right moment to seal our place in the knockout phase of the competition, the match against Leverkusen can be an opportunity. We should try to play a good game, as we did in the reverse fixture.
“I will not make any promises. The goals and assists are technical aspects, but I can bet on the desire of the group.
“Against Leverkusen in the first game we showed that we are capable of playing a great game. What matters now is that we behave as a group and do what is necessary to be safer and happier.”
The reverse fixture ended 3-2 in favour of FC Zürich with Odey getting on the scoresheet.
