Striker Chikeluba Ofoedu claimed that his Maccabi Tel Aviv side’s 3-0 win over Hapoel Beer Sheva was ‘a nice gift for Christmas’.
The Israeli Ligat HaAl beat third placed Hapoel Beer Sheva comfortably on Tuesday 3-0 at home, and next face Hapoel Raanana on Friday.
Ofoedu who scored the first goal of the game gave his thoughts in a chat with Footballlive.ng.
“It was a nice gift for Christmas,” he told Footballlive.ng. “I’m happy and I think the fans are as well.
“It was not an easy match, but the fans were excellent and saw us through until the end.
“The goal makes me happy. I will have loved to score more. My joy lies in the three points we picked which we worked hard for.
“Anyway, for the moment, we’re thinking about the next League game against Hapoel Raanana on Saturday.”
