Lobi Stars of Makurdi coach, Solomon Ogbeide is still standing tall, after his side beat Gor Mahia of Kenya 2-0 to reach the CAF Champions League group stage on Saturday.
Ogbeide said the victory was made possible through a revival in his side psychology, faith in their capabilities and watching video playback, all of which he says helped them make corrections from the 3-1 first leg loss.
Footballlive.ng gathered further that Ogbeide refused to give up on his side, following their loss in Nairobi, which he put down to poor attitude from the players, as he believes they were still the better side.
The veteran coach further disclosed that he was happy his players all played to instructions for the most part of the encounter in Enugu.
Ogbeide disclosed: “We worked on it psychologically. We looked at the match tapes and we saw where we faltered.
“We got their strong and weak points and we worked on them. When you have faith in your work you will remain very optimistic.
“I was very optimistic that we would win. It is football for you where blamed and credit are apportioned in almost equal proportion.
“If I win or lose I take responsibility. There were some obvious mistakes in Nairobi and I corrected them.
