Rangers International of Enugu coach, Gbenga Ogunbote has admitted he does not yet have the full arsenal of players he wants for the CAF Confederation Cup.
Footballlive.ng gathered that Ogunbote says he would have wanted some other quality players in his squad, but admits he has to make do with those he has available for now.
Heading into Wednesday’s second leg preliminaries’ fixture away to Defence Force of Ethiopia, Ogunbote said the current squad will go all out and do the needful in taking the team into the next round of the second-tier continental clubs’ competition
Ogunbote added that he will make do with what he has to scale the hurdle posed by Defence Force, before getting the chance to sign the array of top stars he wants.
The Flying Antelopes defeated the Ethiopia side 2-0 in the first leg tie of the preliminary round fixture in Enugu on November 28, and Ogunbote assured the club’ fans that they are going to Addis Ababa to get a good result and pick the ticket for the first round of the competition.
Ogunbote said: “After studying our opponents in the first leg in Enugu, I am convinced that we are going to get the ticket to the next round.
“With the game I saw them play in Enugu; I really do not see us ending our campaign in Addis Ababa.
“Yes, they pass the ball well, but we also have our strong points which will take us above them when we play at their backyard by the special grace of God.
“We may have some challenges in personnel registration for the competition, but those we have are capable of holding their heads high when the chips are down.”
