Two years after their elimination from the play-off rounds of the CAF Confederation Cup, Rangers will return as Nigeria’s only representative in the competition and Head Coach Gbenga Ogunbote is angling for a big statement.
Rangers picked next season’s CAF Confederation Cup ticket following their Aiteo Cup victory over Kano Pillars and on Saturday were drawn against Ethiopia’s Defence FC; a fair draw according to Ogunbote.
It is a special mission for both the Coach and club and both are negotiating a swift progression from the preliminary rounds with a big first-leg win in Enugu on November 27.
“We don’t have to underrate the opponents, but we must be sure of winning convincingly here in Enugu to make the return leg a mere formality,” Ogunbote told ScoreNigeria.com
The club announced it will resume training on Monday; since their Aiteo Cup win two weeks ago.
Training starts Monday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium
