Ojo Attracts Birmingham, Villa, Derby, Stoke

Date:

Liverpool winger, Sheyi Ojo is attracting summer transfer interest from four lower division clubs in England, as Birmingham City, Derby County, Aston and Stoke City are said to be in the hunt for his signature.

With Liverpool bound to offload him for another loan spell in the coming season, Ojo is said to be top of the wish list of both Birmingham and Villa, who are set to go head-to-head in a battle to sign the Nigerian-born England youth international.

The 21-year-old winger, who joined The Reds from MK Dons at the age of 14, spent last season on loan at Fulham and scored four goals in 22 league matches.

However, Liverpool are keen for the player to be sent out on loan for another season, in order for him to gain valuable first-team action, before joining the club’s main players.

Consequently, the two West Midlands clubs are interested in taking Ojo on loan for next season, but are joined by Stoke and Derby in considering a summer deal for the winger.

As it stands, he will be most likely loaned out to another Championship club, having faced an ambiguous spell at Fulham, where he continuously struggled with injuries.

First, he missed two months with a dislocated shoulder and was then sidelined for another six weeks with a leg injury.

Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp believes another loan spell would be necessary for the all-round improvement Ojo, who was part of England’s FIFA U20 World Cup-winning squad.
