FC Basle of Switzerland defender, Noah Okafor says he wants to emulate former Super Eagles captains, Nwankwo Kanu and Austin Okocha, hence his decision to make himself available for an invitation by Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Okafor is currently involved in the UEFA Youth League for Basle and has scored two goals with four assists in five matches but he has bigger dreams, having just signed his first professional contract with the Swiss club.
The 17-year-old, who is a member of the Switzerland U-18 team, is highly rated in Europe with many pundits already tipping him to become the next Kylian Mbappe, but he is now thinking of making his mark with Nigeria at full international level.
Okafor said it will be great to play for the three-time African champions and make his family proud, knowing that they would bhe happy to see him star for the Eagles at the World Cup.
“Everybody wants to represent the Super Eagles of Nigeria especially watching Kanu Nwankwo and Austin Jay Jay Okocha who are my idols while growing up,” Okafor disclosed.
