Nigerian ex-international defender, Godwin Okpara has spoken in confidence that the Super Eagles will qualify for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations, as he believes the players are all determined to succeed.
The former PSG of France star, who was hailed by soccer legend, Pele as a big revelation at the 1989 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Scotland, said all the Eagles have to do is keep believing in their potentials and they will achieve the expected feat of making it to Cameroon 2009.
Okpara stated further Friday morning on a radio programme monitored by footballlive.ng that he is sure the Eagles have what it takes to beat Libya both home and away, but says they must not get carried away.
“I know what they can do and what they are capable of,” said the former Ebony Award winner during his days with Aalst of Belgium.
“All the players need is determination, focus and commitment, with which they will achieve what they want, which is to qualify for next year’s Nations Cup; and I believe they will achieve it.”
