Okpotu Aims Horde Of Goals In Morocco

Date:

New signing at Diffa El Jadidi of Morocco, Anthony Okpotu has disclosed that he has a burning ambition to hit a rain of goals at his latest base, in much the same way he did for Lobi Stars of Makurdi.

Okpotu was on fire with the Middle Belt club last season in Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), such that emerged highest goals scorer and got a spot with the home-based Eagles at the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) in Morocco.

It was during the second-tier continental competition that he caught the eye of El Jadidi and, now that he has been officially unveiled by the club, Opotu says he wants to justify the deal by netting as many goals as possible.

Fortunately for him, he got off to a flying start at new club with a brace in a friendly and said it was the beginning of his target to help the club to glory in the CAF Champions League.

The all-action top striker, who scored 19 goals last NPFL season, said he hopes to help his new team do well in the domestic Moroccan league as well as on the continental level.

The former Al Ittihad of Libya striker, who signed a-three-year-deal earlier this week, could make his CAF Champions League debut next week away to Entente Setif of Algeria, which he says makes him exciting more than ever.

He added: “I am delighted with the move. My target is to score as many goals as possible in the league. I also wish to score goals in the Champions League to help my team do well in the competition.
