Torino of Italy defender, Ola Aina has declared that he always feels honored any time he has the opportunity of joining the Super Eagles in camp, and is looking forward to the forthcoming team reunion.
Footballllive.ng gathered that Aina is happy with his latest call-up by Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, to join in the battle against South Africa in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on November 17.
Heading into the encounter at FNB Stadium, Johannesburg in a fortnight, Aina added that he will always work hard in training and prepare to give his best for the Eagles anytime the opportunity comes.
Aina stated further that he has no regrets over his decision to opt for Nigeria at senior level, after lining out with England’s youth national teams, and is happy that his decision is paying off.
Having played in all but one Serie A game for Torino this season, in which he started six, Aina also featured in Nigeria’s back-to-back wins over Libya last month.
Aina, who previously played on loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers during their days in the lower division, said he is happy to be part of the revival that has taken Nigeria closer to their first AFCON ticket in five years, after missing the 2015 and 2017 editions.
The dark-skinned full-back concluded: “It’s an honour to play for my country. Playing in the national team makes me feel at home.
“I cherish every moment I’m been invited to the team. I am not the finished article yet, I’m still improving and learning so bear with me. I appreciate everyone.”
