Ola Aina Heads For Bridge Exit Again

Date:

Chelsea have finalised plans for another loan deal that would see dropped Super Eagles right-back, Ola Aina leave Stamford Bridge once again this summer.

Just as it has been over the past treble of seasons, when Aina played for three different clubs in the English Championship, he appears headed back to the second-tier division again this summer.

This is sequel to reports that Aina has attracted interest for a loan spell from a club with strong history of Nigerian players in their past, West Bromwich Albion.

West Brom are in the market for a right-back after missing out on the signature of Yeovil’s Tom James and have switched their attentions to Aina.

The Baggies are preparing to lodge a loan bid for Aina, but must conclude negotiations before the next six days as the transfer window in England will close on August 9.

This comes after Chelsea’s new manager, Maurizio Sarri omitted Aina from the last two rosters for games against Inter Milan and Arsenal.

The 21-year-old was given initial false hope that he was in the plans of Sarri after he travelled with the first-teamers to Australia for a friendly against Perth Glory.

Afterwards, though, Aina, who impressed during his loan spell at Hull City, with 46 games in all competitions, including 44 starts, has been training with Blues’ loan group since the squad returned to London.
