Super Eagles and Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina has joined a growing list of footballers investing in Sokito, a sustainable football boot brand aiming to challenge industry giants like Nike, Adidas, and Puma.
Aina, alongside other high-profile players, is betting on Sokito’s potential to become a leader in the eco-friendly sportswear space. The brand’s £1.1 million investment will fuel its international expansion, further solidifying its presence in the global market.
Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong was among the first professionals to test Sokito boots, wearing the ‘Scudetta’ model during the Africa Cup of Nations and recent international matches.
Sokito has drawn global attention for its environmentally conscious approach, producing what are considered the “greenest” boots in the industry.
The investment group backing the UK-based brand features players from top leagues in France, Germany, the USA, as well as Premier League stars like Aina and Chalobah.
Footballers increasingly diversify their portfolios, often investing in lower-league clubs or establishing academies.
However, Aina’s partnership with Sokito is notable for its focus on tackling climate change and reshaping the relationship between football and the environment.
