Ola Aina will return to the Super Eagles set up this month when Nigeria play Libya in the two-legged Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and the right-back will be hoping for a starter’s shirt.
Aina, who is currently on loan at Torino, can play on both sides as a full-back, but remains a step or two down the pecking order.
The 21-year-old has been putting in the work at Torino; making 8 league appearances including 5 as a starter and they currently sit 8th in the Serie A log.
On Friday, he played for 65 minutes in Torino’s 3-2 win over Frosinone and albeit he walked away with a 6.5 rating, per whoscored.com.
The youngster keeps improving and has shown he can play from the back and help hold possession as his numbers showed on Friday night.
However, the battle for places in the Eagles remains tough and it is almost certain Super Eagles technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr will deploy his regular starters in the back line.
