So soon after also revealing that he was inspired to be a winger in the days of his career by David Beckham, Aina has now revealed that he has been able to adapt as a left-back at Torino because he had always taken delight in watching Marcelo line out for Los Blancos.
Heading into another Serie A outing with his Turin-based side, following a spate out with injury, which stopped him from appearing for the Super Eagles against Seychelles and Liberia, Aina says he is ready to play any role for club and country.
All along, footballlive.ng can report that Aina has shown his versatility in his first four games for Torino in the Italian top-flight, playing as a right wing-back and left wing-back in two games each.
The dark-skinned former England youth international, who says he can also play as a winger up front, has now revealed that he is inspired by Marcelo, who is widely regarded as the best left-sided defender in the world at present.
“I am inspired by Marcelo, I started from pure wing and then I became a defender, but naturally I do what the coach explains to me and asks me,” Aina concluded.
