Nigeria’s Super Eagles squad is in jeopardy after Nottingham Forest full-back, Ola Aina hit fresh injury ahead of 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
Aina is in doubt after he sustained a calf injury during Nottingham Forest’s Premier League match against Bournemouth on Saturday.
The 27-year-old defender was substituted in the 54th minute for Harry Toffolo following the injury.
This is a major concern for Nigeria as they for the crucial qualifiers.
Ola Aina had previously missed Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in June due to injury, and his latest setback could see him sidelined once again.
Nigeria will host Benin Republic on September 7 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, before facing Rwanda in Kigali three days later.
