Oladapo Expresses Faith in Mazembe’s Continental Journey

Date:

Nigerian and TP Mazembe midfielder, Augustine Oladapo has expressed his faith in his team going further at the ongoing CAF Champions League. Congolese based Mazembe recently dumped Angola’s Petro De Luanda out of the continental showpiece, as they seek a 6th continental triumph and their first since 2015.

Oladapo said the team are starting to believe in their run and something fruitful could come out of it. He also mentioned that a lot of people did not have faith in the team from start and they have proven them wrong, adding that the ‘hand of God’ is moving the team.

In his exact words, Oladapo said:

“The way we’re going, we’re believing that something good can come out of it. We don’t have the best quality players like Sundowns, Al Ahly, Esperance. And in our group, we had Sundowns and the likes. We were able to come out because it was like a dream. And when we got to the quarter final, people said we couldn’t beat Petro, but we went there and we did it in their home. For me, i see the hand of God moving us. That’s why i believe something can happen”

T.P Mazembe are now set to take on defending champions, Al Ahly in the semi final. A two legged tie with the Egyptians begins in the DRC on thursday where Mazembe will host the first leg of the tie.
