Omar Al-Miryami Leads Libya’s Crew To Uyo

Date:

Libyan former soccer star, Omar Al-Miryami is the man who will be at the head of Libya’s technical crew for Saturday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Super Eagles, following the shock resignation of Algerian ex-international, Adel Amrouche.

Footballlive.ng gathered that Al-Miryami will now carry the wight of his nation inside his head, as he aims to marshal the right tactics to snatch a very unlikely win away to three-time AFCON winners, Nigeria, who are desperate to go top of Group E.

It is not a mean task for Al-Miryami, but Libya Football Federation (LFF) are keeping faith with him, after the resignation of Amrouche four days before they face Nigeria in a crucial 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Amrouche threw in the towel because he has not been paid six months salaries, and alleged that he was mistreated along with his Algerian assistants, who the LFF told him to pay himself.

The 50-year-old Algerian was appointed Libya coach in May 2018 and was in the dugout in their goalless draw with South Africa last month.

However, Amrouche has already departed Libya’s camp in Tunis and the Libyan FA moved quickly to appoint Al-Miryami as the interim coach for the double-cracker against the Eagles on Saturday and Tuesday.
