Levante of Spain defender, Kenneth Omeruo has reiterated his belief that Nigeria can win this year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, but says it means all the players have to be very serious during the competition.
Speaking on the sidelines of his club’s preparation to battle fellow-Super Eagles star, Moses Simon’s Levante on Monday in La Liga, Omeruo stated emphatically that Nigeria’s team is good enough to rule Africa in July.
The dark-skinned defender, who is on loan at Leganes from Chelsea of England, added that the Eagles are loaded with enough formidable talent to get Nigeria’s fourth feel of the AFCON diadem, but added that they all need to step up their efforts and give good attitude to achieve their projections.
He is of a view that the players must be serious in every match they will play at Egypt 2019, as each game will count for a ot in deciding which of the lot going to The Land of The Pharaohs lifts the trophy at the end.
Omeruo declared: “I think we have what it takes to win AFCON. We have a good team. We will take every game as it comes with the seriousness it deserves.”
