Leganes of Spain defender, Kenneth Omeruo has scoffed at a report about an injury he copped last weekend in action for his club, as he says it was just a case of cramps, footballlive.ng can report.
While stressing that the injury was nothing serious, Omeruo declared that he will soon be fit and back to star for his club in their next La Liga match at the coming weekend.
The dark-skinned stopper, who is on loan from Chelsea of England, added that he will work hard in training to again makes the starting line-up for Leganes ahead of their next game.
Although Omeruo admitted that the injury forced him out of a 1-1 draw for his team away to Valencia at the weekend, it will not stop him from playing the next match.
Omeruo added that he was happy to finally get his first start since joining Leganes in the summer, and hopes many more will follow.
The Super Eagles star, who started the game at Valencia, but was replaced in the 70th minute, equally said he is happy to see his team playing well and defying all odds against them in La Liga.
hough Leganes are 18th on the table with eight points from nine matches, Omeruo insists they are playing well and is happy to be part of the squad, for which he stressed that he is always eager to feature for.
Omeruo stated: “I was eager to start playing and when the opportunity came I took it before the international break.
“I got injured and I had to be replaced, but the injury is not serious, it was just cramps and soon I will be back playing again. It is a good thing that I am getting playing time.
“We almost ran away with the victory, but unfortunately we conceded a late goal. A point is better than nothing.”
