Leganes of Spain defender, Kenneth Omeruo was on Saturday snubbed once again by the club’s gaffer, as footballlive.ng learnt that the Super Eagles tar was not listed for their La Liga match against Eibar.
Despite a recent surge into the club’s match day squad for the past two fixtures, Omeruo back into the shadows, as he was not named in the 18 players listed for Saturday’s match.
It is another setback for the lad on loan from Chelsea, as Omeruo has been hit with another retrogressive development at the modest Spanish top-flight club.
Omeruo, who earlier had loan spells from Chelsea at ADO Den Haag of Holland, Middlesbrough of England as well as the Turkish duo of Kasımpaşa and Alanyaspor, appeared to have broken his duck earlier this month when he made Leganes’ squads against Real Madrid and Villarreal.
That was in contrast with his earlier fate, when he was not considered for games against Athletic Bilbao and Real Sociedad in August, but he has now taken another step backward.
It means Omeruo’s target to become the 22nd youngest Nigerian player to debut in La Liga will have to wait for much longer, after he was left out of the match day squad against Eibar.
Omeruo’s name was conspicuously missing when Leganes’ manager called 19 players for the week five fixture at Estadio Municipal de Ipurúa in Eibar, as the gaffer opted instead for Dimitris Siovas, Rodrigo Tarín and Unai Bustinza.
