Trabzonspor of Turkey midfielder, Eddy Ogenyi Onazi has thrown more light on the sudden injury blight that ruled him out of action with the Super Eagles against Libya on Saturday, footballlive.ng can report.
The former SS Lazio of Italy battler was on Friday declared unfit to star in the match, after report emerged that he had copped a knock in training, but Onazi has now disclosed that it was more of ‘cold in his Achilles.’
Onazi took to social media to explain the situation, after reports emerged that he had suffered a training ground injury in the penultimate workout on Thursday and did not partake in the team’s final drills on Friday evening at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
Initial tests showed that Onazi suffered a tear that could also rule him out of the Eagles second leg fixture against the Libyans on October 16 in Sfax, Tunisia as well.
Onazi, who made his first start in five games in the Eagles 3-0 rout of Seychelles last month, wrote: ”Something cold for the stubborn Achilles.”
